The Repasz Band is now in its 179th year of fine community music-making. Under the able batons of director Al Nacinovich and associate directors Gordon Taylor and Jeff Dent, the band will perform a variety of works chosen especially to appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

One of the band’s premier show-stoppers this season is the Italian Rhapsody arranged by Julie Giroux which features music and melodies of traditional famous Italian favorites.

Also in the tour de force category are the rhythmically powerful Symphonic Dances From Fiddler on the Roof and the exquisitely expressive introspection of Nimrod from the Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar.

On the lighter side are Pachinko, a percussion novelty piece, Relax, a lilting rumba by Paul Yoder, and Fandango by Frank Perkins, a driving Spanish-style dance.

Marches are always a band specialty and this concert features heavy Russian-style A Slavic Farewell by V. I. Agapkin, Valdres, based on Norwegian folksongs, by Johannes Hanssen, and Thunder and Blazes, a very traditional march

This concert will feature Scottish bag-piper Dr. Arno Vosk who will solo in Highland Cathedral by Roever and Korb.
